The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of Erenayo Dorcas Koki, a journalist and football commentator with NigeriaInfo FM, as the new Media Officer of the U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos.
Koki, based in Port Harcourt, brings years of experience covering both local and international sporting events. Known for bold storytelling, engaging analysis and strong advocacy for women’s sports, particularly football, she is expected to give the team greater visibility and stronger media presence.
She succeeds Monsurah Olatunji, who served during the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, and before her, Faith Meremegbunam.
Speaking on her new role, Koki said:
“I will work with the NFF Communications Department to amplify the voices of the players and coaches, ensuring the team’s journey is shared nationwide and beyond. My vision is to make the Flamingos a household name, not only during tournaments but throughout the year. We will tell their stories in ways that inspire pride, build fan connection and position the team as the future of Nigerian football, through fresh digital content, stronger media engagement and authentic storytelling.”
The Flamingos, bronze medallists at the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, will resume camping on Sunday as they begin preparations for this year’s edition, scheduled to hold in Morocco from 17 October to 8 November.
