Rivers United Technical Adviser, Finidi George, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance after they secured a goalless draw against El-Kanemi Warriors in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 3 clash at the El-Kanemi Stadium, Maiduguri.
The Pride of Rivers showed resilience, particularly in the second half, to earn a valuable point on the road and extend their unbeaten start to the 2025/2026 NPFL season to three matches.
“Overall, I think we’re quite happy with the result,” said Finidi, the former Super Eagles winger and coach.
“The first half was 50-50. In the second half, particularly in the last 25 minutes, they pushed us back, and we had to defend while looking for counter opportunities. They were faster to the ball and kept the pressure on, but I’m pleased we held our ground to get a point.”
Rivers United have now collected five points from three outings, recording one win and two draws so far this season.
