Enyimba FC defender Emeka Onyema has spoken passionately ahead of Sunday’s NPFL Matchday 3 clash against Nasarawa United in Aba, insisting the People’s Elephant are fully focused on securing maximum points.
The towering centre back, who recently joined from Nasarawa United, confirmed he will not feature in the encounter but expressed that his heart will be with his teammates. Onyema revealed that the match holds personal significance as he hopes a victory can be dedicated to the memory of his late father.
“Nasarawa is my former club and I know them very well, but I am optimistic Enyimba will continue our good form on Sunday. The camp is bubbling with high spirit, both old and new players are determined to achieve a glorious season,” Onyema said.
“Although I will not be in the squad for the game, my spirit is with them. I want my teammates to get the maximum points and help settle the spirit of my late father, who went to be with his Creator recently.”
