Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan has recorded an unprecedented success in merchandise sales, generating over N4.2 million within three weeks from the sale of branded items.
The club’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Bunmi Fadayomi, revealed exclusively to OyoSportsNews that the revenue came from sales of home and away replica jerseys, face caps, mugs, and towels at the club’s official store inside the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba. The store operates from Mondays to Saturdays, as well as on every matchday, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., ensuring fans have regular access to merchandise.
Fadayomi confirmed that the club sold 245 replica jerseys, 95 caps, 45 towels, 40 mugs, and 30 footstones, marking a historic milestone in Shooting Stars’ commercial drive. He noted that sales peaked on the opening day of the new NPFL season when the Oluyole Warriors hosted Bayelsa United.
He added that the management has concluded arrangements to introduce new merchandise, including keyrings, which will be available ahead of the Matchday Three fixture against Ikorodu City.
Speaking on the club’s broader vision, Fadayomi said the management, under the leadership of Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami, is determined to reposition, rebrand, and restructure Shooting Stars. Their goal is to make the club a globally recognised football brand, supported by innovation and a strong push to return the team to continental competitions.
Fadayomi also disclosed plans to launch an online ordering platform for fans to conveniently purchase club merchandise, with deliveries facilitated through a partnership with a logistics company.
The remarkable sales feat has been attributed to the unwavering loyalty and passion of the club’s supporters. The management expressed profound appreciation to the fans, acknowledging their crucial role in the club’s steady resurgence.
Shooting Stars’ leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening fan engagement, enhancing matchday experiences, and bringing the club even closer to its growing supporter base.
