The Confederation of African Football has unveiled the finalists for the 2025 CAF Awards, with Achraf Hakimi, Mohamed Salah and Victor Osimhen leading the race for the Men’s Player of the Year title. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 19 November, in Rabat, Morocco, where the best performers across African football will be celebrated.
CAF Player of the Year
Mohamed Salah makes the shortlist after a remarkable season with Liverpool. The Egyptian forward scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists in 38 matches as the club clinched the Premier League title. He also played a central role in Egypt’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Achraf Hakimi enjoyed an outstanding season with Paris Saint Germain, lifting the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France and UEFA Super Cup, while also reaching the FIFA Club World Cup final. His influence was equally felt as Morocco secured their place at the 2026 World Cup.
Victor Osimhen completes the top three after a prolific first year with Galatasaray. The Nigerian striker scored 37 goals in 41 matches in the 2024 to 2025 campaign and has carried that form into the new season.
CAF Goalkeeper of the Year
RS Berkane’s Munir Mohamedi is recognised for leading his club to the CAF Confederation Cup title and their maiden Botola Pro championship.
Yassine Bonou earns another nomination after impressing for Al Hilal and securing a place in the FIFA Club World Cup Best XI.
Ronwen Williams is shortlisted for captaining South Africa to World Cup qualification and guiding Mamelodi Sundowns to another league crown and a CAF Champions League final appearance.
CAF Interclub Player of the Year
Fiston Mayele leads the finalists after finishing as top scorer in the CAF Champions League and helping Pyramids win their first continental title.
His teammate Mohamed Chibi is also nominated for his consistency throughout Pyramids’ successful campaign.
RS Berkane forward Oussama Lamlioui completes the list after scoring key goals in their Confederation Cup triumph and league title charge.
CAF Coach of the Year
Cape Verde coach Bubista headlines the category after steering the island nation to its first FIFA World Cup.
Morocco Under 20 coach Mohamed Ouahbi is nominated for guiding his team to the 2025 FIFA Under 20 World Cup crown.
Walid Regragui is also shortlisted after maintaining an unbeaten run in 2025 and qualifying Morocco for the 2026 World Cup.
CAF Young Player of the Year
Abdellah Ouazane earns nomination after being named Player of the Tournament in Morocco’s Under 17 AFCON success.
Othmane Maamma is also shortlisted following his role in Morocco’s Under 20 World Cup triumph and his move to Watford.
South Africa’s Tylon Smith completes the category after shining in his country’s Under 20 AFCON victory.
CAF National Team of the Year
Cape Verde, Morocco and Morocco Under 20 are the three finalists based on their historic and successful campaigns on the global and continental stage.
CAF Club of the Year
Egypt’s Pyramids head the list after winning the CAF Champions League for the first time.
RS Berkane follow after securing the Confederation Cup and their first Botola Pro title.
Mamelodi Sundowns complete the category after extending their dominance in South Africa and reaching the Champions League final.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday night as African football honours its standout performers of 2025.
