Africa’s premier club competitions roar back to life this weekend as the Group Stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup begins across the continent.
A powerful line-up features reigning Champions League holders Pyramids FC, record winners Al Ahly, Espérance de Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns, RS Berkane, AS FAR Rabat and several ambitious challengers representing all CAF regions.
In the Confederation Cup, giants Zamalek and USM Alger headline a competitive field that also includes Wydad, CR Belouizdad, Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch, Azam, ZESCO United and debutants Nairobi United.
Opening night brings immediate high-profile encounters as Pyramids host Rivers United in Cairo, while RS Berkane take on Power Dynamos in a North–South clash full of intrigue.
Al Ahly begin their push for a 13th Champions League crown against JS Kabylie. Espérance welcome Stade Malien, and Mamelodi Sundowns meet St Éloi Lupopo in another heavyweight match-up.
The Confederation Cup offers its own compelling narratives, including an all-Egyptian group featuring Zamalek versus ZESCO United and Al Masry against Kaizer Chiefs.
Newcomers also take the spotlight, with Nairobi United travelling to Wydad, OC Safi away to Djoliba, and Maniema Union facing Azam in an East–Central Africa contest.
Two matchdays will be completed before the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 begins. The group stage will then pause and resume in January 2026.
