Team Nasarawa produced a strong performance to secure their place in the final of the North Central Zonal Arewa Consultative Forum U17 Unity Cup, overcoming Niger State 4-2 in Saturday’s opening semi-final at the Lafia City Stadium.
Despite a slow start, the hosts settled into the game and delivered a convincing display that made them the first team from the zone to reach the final.
Plateau State joined them moments later after edging Kogi 5-3 in a spirited contest, setting up an all-North Central final against Nasarawa. The championship match will take place at 10am on Sunday, 16 November 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium.
Organisers confirmed that prizes and consolation awards will be presented to outstanding players and teams at the event.
The eventual winners from the North Central Zone will progress to the national finals in Kaduna, where they will compete against champions from the North East and North West between 20 and 22 November 2025 for the overall title.
The tournament forms part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, a non-partisan body committed to uniting leaders and youth from Northern Nigeria to promote peace, protect regional interests and foster socio-economic development.
