NPFL Mourns Norbert Okolie: A Pillar of Nigerian Sports Media Passes On



The Nigeria Premier Football League has described the death of Mr Norbert Okolie as a major loss to the sports industry.

Okolie, who served as the Media Director of Rangers International, passed away over the weekend. He was also a former Chairman of the Enugu State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and a member of the national council.

In a statement, NPFL Media Director Harry Iwuala paid tribute to Okolie, describing him as one of the most dedicated and resourceful media professionals in the league.

Iwuala said he had worked with many club media directors and noted that Okolie distinguished himself through his engagement with the public and the sporting media. He added that Okolie’s background as a photojournalist strengthened his ability to produce top quality content for the NPFL and the wider public.

He extended condolences to Okolie’s family, Rangers International, members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and the NPFL Media Directors Association.
