Wikki Tourists Earn Crucial Away Point in Kano

Wikki Tourists FC battled to a hard-fought goalless draw against Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, in an NPFL Matchday 11 encounter played behind closed doors on Sunday.

Despite the 0–0 outcome, the Tourists impressed with dominant play and created several clear-cut opportunities that could have secured all three points. Barau FC’s goalkeeper, Yusuf Mohammed, stood out for the hosts, producing a series of fine saves to frustrate Wikki’s forwards.

Speaking after the match, Wikki Tourists’ head coach, Abdu Maikaba, described the result as a vital step forward for his team.

“It was important we were able to grab a point here in Kano, which means a lot as far as the league is concerned. We’ll keep improving, strategise better, and ensure we perform even stronger in coming games,” Maikaba said.

The experienced tactician commended his players’ commitment and discipline, noting that consistency will be key to sustaining progress as the season unfolds. He also commented calmly on officiating, acknowledging human errors while calling for continued improvement in future fixtures.

With the draw, Wikki Tourists continue their steady rise in the 2025/2026 NPFL campaign.
