The Nigeria National League has terminated the participation of Sporting Supreme Football Club of Abuja after the club failed to honour two consecutive league fixtures.
Sporting Supreme missed their Matchday encounters against Jigawa Golden Stars of Dutse and Ranches Bees of Kaduna, actions which the league said breached several provisions of its regulations.
In a statement released by the NNL, the club was found guilty of violating Articles 31, 7, 14.9.1, 14.10 and 14.11 of the league’s rules, leading to severe disciplinary measures.
As part of the sanctions, Sporting Supreme have been fined N10 million, while all matches involving the club this season have been cancelled. Points scored by or against the team have also been annulled.
The league further imposed a five year ban on Sporting Supreme and its management from all NNL activities.
NNL Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, described the sanctions as justified, stating that the club’s actions were capable of bringing disrepute to the league.
He stressed that the Nigeria National League operates as a professional competition and that all participating clubs are expected to adhere strictly to its rules and regulations.
Sporting Supreme become the second club to be expelled from the league this season, following the earlier removal of Dakkada FC during the 2025 to 2026 campaign.
