Oliseh singles out Ndidi, Lookman after Super Eagles book AFCON last-16 spot

Former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has singled out Ademola Lookman and Wilfred Ndidi for praise following Nigeria’s 3–2 victory over Tunisia at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.

Nigeria secured the win in a lively Group encounter to book a place in the AFCON Round of 16.

Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman were all on target as the Super Eagles overcame stiff resistance from the North Africans.

Reacting to the performance on his X account, Oliseh highlighted Lookman’s influence in attack and Ndidi’s aggression, while also expressing admiration for Osimhen’s overall contribution.

The former Nigeria coach described Lookman as “on fire” and pointed out Ndidi’s determination in attacking the ball to score Nigeria’s second goal.

“Lookman on fire. Second assist and I personally love Ndidi’s attacking the ball to head Naija 2–0 up,” Oliseh wrote.

Nigeria will conclude their group campaign against Uganda in their final match, scheduled to take place in the coming days.
