Chelle Shuts Out Media as Super Eagles Step Up Mozambique Preparations

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has barred the media from the team’s training sessions on Thursday and Friday as preparations intensify for Nigeria’s Round of 16 clash against Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sources within the camp confirmed that the Super Eagles will train behind closed doors on both days, with Chelle insisting on uninterrupted time with his players.

The French tactician is understood to be keen on fine-tuning tactics without external distractions as the tournament enters its decisive phase.

Media access will resume on Saturday and Sunday, when journalists will be allowed to observe parts of the team’s training sessions.

Nigeria have been one of the standout teams at the ongoing AFCON, winning all three group matches and scoring a tournament-high eight goals.

The Super Eagles will face Mozambique for a place in the quarter-finals when both sides meet at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on Monday.
