Nigeria National League Shifts Restart Date Over Logistics

The Nigeria National League has announced February 14, 2026, as the new resumption date for the second stanza of the 2025–2026 season.

The second-tier league was initially scheduled to resume on January 31, 2026, but the date has now been pushed forward by two weeks.

Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, Danlami Ananana, confirmed the development on Tuesday while speaking to journalists in Abuja.

According to Ananana, the decision to adjust the resumption date was taken due to logistical considerations and other emerging circumstances affecting the smooth restart of the league.

He explained that the shift was made in the overall interest of the competition to ensure better organisation and effective coordination across all centres.

Ananana also urged participating clubs to use the extended break to resolve any outstanding logistical issues ahead of the restart.

All conferences of the Nigeria National League will resume matches on the same date, February 14.
