Nasarawa Amazons head coach, Christopher Danjuma, has praised his players for their discipline and preparation following a hard-earned away victory over Remo Stars Ladies in the NWFL Premiership on Wednesday.
The Amazons secured all three points at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, courtesy of an early strike from Ayatsea Hembafan, which proved decisive in the Matchday Five encounter.
Reacting after the game, Danjuma commended the quality of the opposition while expressing satisfaction with his team’s execution of the game plan.
He described Remo Stars Ladies as a well-coached side and revealed that his players approached the match fully aware of the challenge ahead.
“The coach of Remo Stars Ladies is a highly respected colleague who understands how to groom players,” Danjuma told Nasarawa Amazons media. “We knew Remo would be a tough test. We came prepared, played our game, and by God’s grace, we got the victory. It was a good match, and we thank God for it.”
The coach also highlighted the progress his team has made since their last visit to Ikenne, noting a significant improvement in attacking strength and consistency.
“Since our last loss here, we have grown into a strong attacking side and have not lost any game in regular time, except the penalty shootout defeat in the President Federation Cup final,” he added.
Danjuma made it clear that the club’s immediate objective remains qualification for the Super Six, stressing that the team is taking the season one step at a time.
“Our focus is clear. Qualify for the Super Six first, then we take it from there,” he said.
Nasarawa Amazons will next host Osun Babes at the Lafia City Stadium in Matchday Six as they continue their push for a strong finish in the regular season.
