Technical adviser of Plateau United, Gbenga Ogunbote, has praised his players following their emphatic 4-1 victory over Shooting Stars SC on Sunday.
The Peace Boys delivered a commanding display at the New Jos Stadium, overwhelming the Ibadan-based side in front of their home supporters.
Ogunbote said his encouragement and motivation played a key role in the team’s performance, expressing satisfaction at beating his former club.
The experienced tactician left Shooting Stars last season after spending two years in charge.
“It’s always a thing of joy to win your former team, that was a team I know inside out and have a lot of influence,” Ogunbote said after the game in Jos.
“Apart from that, I needed to encourage my players too which really worked for us.
“We really worked hard for the game and the boys also responded positively.”
The result strengthens Plateau United’s momentum as they continue their campaign with renewed confidence.
