El-Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper Hakeem Otuyiga has returned to training after spending more than a month on the sidelines with injury.
The former Akwa United shot-stopper rejoined his teammates this week but only participated in light sessions as he continues his recovery.
Otuyiga’s return comes as a timely boost for El-Kanemi Warriors ahead of the closing stages of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The goalkeeper expressed his delight at being back on the training pitch and assured supporters he is working towards full fitness.
“I am back to training but not fully back. I’ve started rehabilitation. I promise I will be back and better,” Otuyiga told El Kanemi Warriors club’s media.
Otuyiga suffered a fractured arm during a tune-up game in early January before the start of the second round and underwent immediate surgery. He has since been absent from the squad.
The goalkeeper has made 16 league appearances this season, keeping eight clean sheets for the Maiduguri-based side.
