Super Eagles Coach Chelle Queries Source of Media Leak

Eric Chelle has questioned how confidential documents detailing his demands to the Nigeria Football Federation found their way into the media.

Speaking on the Histoires De Foot Podcast, the Super Eagles coach admitted he remains unsure about the source of the leak.

“If I’m honest with you, I don’t really know,” Chelle said. “The first question I ask myself is, how did these documents end up in the media?”

Chelle acknowledged that leadership decisions do not always please everyone, stressing that disagreement is part of football management.

“As a coach, you don’t do unanimity,” he said. “Through your actions, there are people who love you and others who love you less.”

The Nigerian coach explained that his recent professional decisions, including switching agencies, were driven by ambition and a desire to reach a higher level in his career.

“I decided to put a structure around me which will allow me to arrive at another stage, with all the ambition that characterises me and my vision,” he said.

Chelle denied disrespecting anyone in the process and maintained that his requests were legitimate.

“When you look at the document, I neither more nor less asked what I am entitled to,” he added.

He stopped short of accusing anyone of leaking the documents but admitted that the episode has raised questions internally.
