Abia Angels forward Winner David has been named the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Matchday 9 Top Performer after a fan vote following her outstanding display in the Abia derby.
David produced a remarkable performance as Abia Angels defeated Ahudiyannem Queens 5-2. The forward scored a first-half hat-trick to inspire her side in one of the most memorable individual displays of the round.
The fans’ vote confirmed David as the standout performer of the matchday with a total of 808 votes.
Remo Stars Ladies forward Aishat Animashaun finished second with 653 votes, while Rivers Angels’ Abasiofon Uwah placed third with 190 votes.
Naija Ratels’ Omeje Chukwube secured fourth place with 41 votes and Adamawa Queens’ Omon Afensimi finished fifth with 36 votes.
The NWFL Premiership will now move into the second round after the completion of an exciting first stanza, with more competitive fixtures and standout performances expected when the league resumes.
