Doma United reported to have suffered a violent attack from ABS FC fans following their 1-1 draw at Kwara State Stadium on Saturday, 14th March 2026, in Match Day 13 of the Nigeria National League.
The game began with a peaceful pre-match meeting between officials of both clubs. However, tensions escalated after the match, following a confrontation between Doma United goalkeeper coach Boyin Ayodele and ABS FC head coach Joel Ogun, triggered by a provocative statement from Ogun.
Celebrating an away point that strengthened their promotion prospects, Doma United players and staff were confronted by ABS FC supporters angered over dropping points at home, with objects thrown during the chaos. Doma United media personnel were reportedly held at ransom, with an MTN internet router and a 30,000 mAh power bank stolen amid the disorder, according to a statement released by Doma United's media.
The club also stated that coach Boyin Ayodele sustained a serious head injury after being struck by a wooden object. Security personnel failed to intervene effectively, standing by as the situation escalated.
The match itself saw ABS FC take an early lead in the fifth minute, with Doma United equalising in the 73rd minute through a long-range strike from central defender Philemon Bitrus. The thrilling goal silenced the stadium and was described as a contender for goal of the week.
Doma United has called on the Nigeria National League to investigate the incident and enforce appropriate disciplinary measures against those responsible.
