Head coach Bashir Saleh has expressed concern over his side’s profligacy in front of goal after Wikki Tourists F.C. fell 1–0 to Kwara United F.C. on Matchday 28 of NPFL26.
The encounter, played on Saturday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, was decided by a 15th minute strike from the hosts.
Wikki responded with urgency and attacking intent, dominating spells of play and creating clear chances. However, the Bauchi-based side failed to convert their opportunities.
Kwara United missed a penalty during the contest, offering Wikki a lifeline. Despite sustained pressure, the visitors could not find an equaliser as the early goal proved decisive at full time.
Reacting after the match, Saleh admitted his frustration at his team’s recurring struggle in front of goal.
“It’s worrisome because it keeps repeating itself, but we will not relent in working to correct it,” he told WTFC media.
Wikki Tourists will now turn their attention to Matchday 29, where they are scheduled to host El-Kanemi Warriors F.C. next weekend.
