The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a fine of N1 million for clubs that fail to honour matches during the national preliminaries of the 2026 President Federation Cup.
NFF Director of Competitions, Ruth David, disclosed this in a statement on Monday while confirming the schedule for the state preliminary rounds of the country’s oldest football competition.
According to the statement, the state preliminaries will hold between 22 March and 26 April.
The matches are scheduled to kick off on Sunday, 22 March. Any club that completes registration for the competition at the state level but fails to show up for a match will be fined N500,000.
The NFF also directed that the final matches of the state competitions must be played either on Saturday, 25 April or Sunday, 26 April.
Each State Football Association, including that of the Federal Capital Territory, is expected to submit two representatives for the national competition on either of the two dates.
