NWFL Reveals First Stanza Best XI, Blankson Named Coach of the Phase

The technical team of the Nigeria Women Football League has unveiled the Best XI for the first stanza of the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season.

The selection recognises players who delivered standout performances and consistency during the opening round of the campaign across the league.

Remo Stars Ladies lead the representation with three players in the team, while Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels have two players each. Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Robo Queens and Abia Angels each contributed one player to the selection.

In goal, Remo Stars Ladies goalkeeper Nkiruka Obidinma earned the nod after a series of impressive displays.

The defensive line features Eberechukwu Eleka and Hanah Ibrahim of Remo Stars Ladies, alongside Blessing Ilivieda of Bayelsa Queens.

The midfield consists of Winner David of Abia Angels, Rafiu Tosin of Robo Queens, Ayatsea Hembafan of Nasarawa Amazons, and Kindness Ifeanyi of Bayelsa Queens.

In attack, Atume Doosuur of Edo Queens, Abasiofon Uwah and Ramotalahi Kareem of Rivers Angels complete the forward line, reflecting their strong impact in front of goal during the first half of the season.

Rivers Angels coach Tosan Blankson was named Coach of the First Stanza after guiding the Port Harcourt side through an impressive opening phase of the campaign.

The league will now shift focus to the second stanza of the season, which is scheduled to begin on Wednesday as teams resume the race for honours.
