Sodiq Ibrahim marked his Shooting Stars debut with a goal in their 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United on MatchDay 21 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The forward, who joined Shooting Stars recently, came on as a second-half substitute and sealed the win with a powerful strike. His goal doubled 3SC’s lead after Tijani Kabir had put the hosts ahead in the 14th minute.
Expressing his delight after the game, Ibrahim credited head coach Gbenga Ogunbote for believing in him.
"My debut goal for Shooting Stars is a huge boost for me and a way to show my gratitude to 'The Oracle,' Gbenga Ogunbote, for believing in me," Ibrahim said. "I'm thrilled with the goal and want to thank my coaches, teammates, and the fans for making this day happen."
The striker hopes his debut performance is the beginning of a successful spell with the Ibadan-based club.
