"I Apologize for My Wastefulness in Front of Goal" – Junior Aimufua Speaks After Brace Against Lobi Stars

Junior Aimufua has openly apologized to Kwara United supporters for his missed chances throughout the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, including the recent match against Lobi Stars, despite scoring twice.

Speaking to journalists in Ilorin on Sunday after being named Cyteck Man of the Match for his brace in the NPFL Matchday 35 fixture, Aimufua admitted to falling short in front of goal and pledged to improve.

"I sincerely apologize for my wastefulness in front of goal. This will be overcome through continuous training and hard work, and I promise to surmount these challenges," he said.

He emphasized that the issue extends beyond individual performance. “It’s not just about me. The coaching crew is working hard with us, and I believe we will overcome this together,” he added.

The Cyteck Man of the Match Award, sponsored by Engr. Ahmed Olaide, has been a staple for four seasons, recognizing top performances in Kwara United games.

Kwara United now prepare for a President Federation Cup quarterfinal clash against Akwa United in Enugu on Saturday, before heading to Aba for a midweek Matchday 36 encounter with Enyimba.
