Brentford U23 defender Benjamin Frederick has joined the Super Eagles camp in London, replacing Getafe’s Uche Christsantus, who withdrew due to personal reasons.
Frederick, 20, has enjoyed a standout season, earning Brentford U23s’ Players’ Player of the Season award and is expected to break into the first team under Thomas Frank next season.
His proximity to the team’s London base eased his integration into the squad as preparations continue for Nigeria’s upcoming international assignments.
Frederick was a key performer for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, helping the team reach the quarterfinals with a memorable victory over the host nation in the round of 16.
