Nasarawa Amazons continued their strong push in the NWFL25 Premiership Super 6 with a 2-1 victory over Rivers Angels on matchday three, held Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Ikenne.
Jenat Akekeromowei was the star of the evening, scoring twice in the first half (24’, 30’) to give the Amazons a comfortable lead. Despite a late strike from Catherine Kenneth in the 79th minute, Rivers Angels couldn’t find the equalizer.
Statistically, the game was closely contested. Nasarawa Amazons edged shots on target 7-5, corners 6-5, and committed more fouls, 14-2. Both sides were even in offsides (4-4), while Rivers Angels’ goalkeeper made five saves compared to four from her counterpart. The only booking of the match went to Nasarawa.
With this result, Nasarawa Amazons remain unbeaten, boasting two wins and a draw. They previously defeated Naija Ratels 2-1 and drew 1-1 with Bayelsa Queens.
Rivers Angels, on the other hand, are still without a win—having lost 1-0 to Bayelsa Queens in their opener and drawn 1-1 with defending champions Edo Queens in matchday two.
