NWFL Best Goalkeeper to Receive ₦200,000 Prize Courtesy of Judith Chime Foundation

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced that the only officially approved sponsorship for the 2024/2025 season is the End-of-Season Best Goalkeeper Award, worth ₦200,000.

Sponsored by the Judith Chime Foundation, the prize will be presented at the end of the NWFL Premiership Super Six, currently taking place from May 9 to 17 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Following a formal proposal, the NWFL approved only this award in line with its operational guidelines. According to Chief Operating Officer Ms. Modupe Shabi, the league appreciates the Foundation’s gesture but emphasized that no other monetary or material rewards have been sanctioned.

“We sincerely appreciate the Judith Chime Foundation’s gesture in rewarding excellence among NWFL Premiership goalkeepers,” Shabi said. “However, it is important to state that only the ₦200,000 End-of-Season Best Goalkeeper Award has been formally approved for the 2024/2025 season.”

She also praised Judith Chime, a former Super Falcons goalkeeper, for her ongoing support for women’s football in Nigeria.

“Judith Chime has consistently demonstrated a deep passion for the women’s game. Her Foundation’s contribution reflects our shared goal of spotlighting talent and dedication within the league,” Shabi added.

The NWFL reiterated its commitment to professionalism and maintaining a structured commercial environment, noting that all sponsorships must align with its long-term vision for the growth of women’s football in the country.
