NWFL Premiership Super 6: Bayelsa Queens Hold Nasarawa Amazons in Ikenne



Nasarawa Amazons and Bayelsa Queens played out a 1-1 draw in the opening game of matchday 2 at the NWFL Premiership Super 6 on Monday in Ikenne.

Jenat Akekeromowei gave Nasarawa Amazons the lead in the 56th minute from the penalty spot. However, former Amazon Dooshima Tarnum came off the bench to equalize for Bayelsa Queens just six minutes later.

The closely contested match saw both sides finish with similar stats: 5 shots on target for Nasarawa and 4 for Bayelsa, with corners and offsides evenly matched at 2-2 and 1-1 respectively. Goalkeeper saves stood at 3 for Nasarawa and 4 for Bayelsa, while fouls were 15-16.

Bayelsa Queens ended the game with 10 players after a red card, but the numerical disadvantage didn’t prevent them from securing a point.

It’s a result that keeps both sides in contention as the Super 6 tournament progresses.
