Rivers Angels Hold Edo Queens to a Draw in Super 6 Thriller

Rivers Angels and Edo Queens played out a 1-1 draw in a tightly contested NWFL Premiership Super 6 Matchday 2 clash on Monday in Ikenne.

Edo Queens, the defending champions, took the lead in the 26th minute through Emem Essien. However, Rivers Angels were gifted an equalizer in the 38th minute after Valentina Uroko scored an unfortunate own goal.

Despite Edo Queens dominating the attacking stats with 9 shots on target and 12 off target, they failed to find a winning goal. Rivers Angels’ goalkeeper was key, making 8 crucial saves to keep the game level.
