Ajibade Brace Fires Super Falcons to 2-0 Win Over Cameroon in Friendly Clash

The Super Falcons of Nigeria secured a commanding 2-0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in an international friendly match on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade led by example, netting both goals in a dominant first-half display. She opened the scoring in the 28th minute from the penalty spot and doubled Nigeria’s lead 15 minutes later, finishing off a flowing move assisted by Rinsola Babajide.

Nigeria controlled the match from start to finish, with Cameroon rarely threatening as the Super Falcons’ defense held firm.

The win provides a timely morale boost for Coach Justine Madugu’s squad as they continue preparations for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, set to kick off on July 5.

With nine WAFCON titles to their name, the Super Falcons will be aiming to extend their record with a 10th continental crown.

Tuesday’s performance sets the tone for Nigeria’s campaign, offering fans renewed hope ahead of the highly anticipated tournament.
