Rivers United FC has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Akwa United’s Team Manager, Sir Emmanuel Udoh KSJ, who passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
In an official statement, Rivers United’s General Manager, Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu, extended heartfelt condolences to the entire Akwa United family, honouring the legacy of the respected football figure.
Sir Emmanuel Udoh, fondly known as "Bullet" during his playing days, featured as a right-back for the Green Eagles of Nigeria, Calabar Rovers, and Bendel Insurance. Following his playing career, he served as Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association for 13 years before taking up the role of Team Manager at Akwa United.
Under his leadership, Akwa United won the FA Cup in 2015 and 2017 and clinched the Nigeria Premier Football League title in 2021.
Rivers United offered prayers for the repose of his soul and strength for his family, friends, and colleagues during this time of grief.
