The standoff between Abia Warriors and their head coach, Imama Amapakabo, shows no sign of resolution as both parties remain at odds over his attempted departure.
The club has formally rejected Imama's resignation, insisting that due process must be followed. Abia Warriors have also criticised Kano Pillars for what they described as an improper approach in their bid to hire the coach.
Imama, however, remains adamant, claiming he has the right to buy out his contract and move on.
In response to the growing tension, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has stepped in, demanding Kano Pillars provide a full explanation of their involvement in the matter.
