Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State has rewarded the Nasarawa Amazons Football Club with ₦30 million and a brand new Toyota Hiace bus following their impressive performances in the 2024/25 season.
According to the club's media officer, Adakwu Ochoche Emmanuel, the gesture is part of a broader ₦85 million package distributed to athletes, coaches, and supporters in the state. Out of the ₦30 million given to the Amazons, ₦25 million was allocated to the players while ₦5 million went to the coaching crew.
The Amazons concluded the regular Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) season in second place and also finished as runners-up in the 25th President Federation Cup held in Lagos.
Their standout campaign saw Akekoromowei Janet named the NWFL Most Valuable Player, while Shobowale Olushola clinched the MVP award for the President Federation Cup.
Governor Sule’s consistent support for sports development in Nasarawa State was once again highlighted through this reward initiative, as he continues to recognise and encourage excellence in sports.
