Wikki Tourists FC have ramped up preparations for the 2025 NNL Super Eight Playoff in Asaba, Delta State, with a clear mission — a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Having secured their playoff spot with a commanding 4-1 win over Zamfara United on the final day of the regular season, the Bauchi-based side has resumed intensive training and participated in high-profile friendly matches under the guidance of Technical Adviser Abdu Maikaba.
Coach Maikaba, renowned for his promotion pedigree, expressed confidence in the team's form and focus.
“Our preparations are going according to plan. The players are showing great commitment and focus. We’ve worked hard all season, and now is the time to consolidate that effort and fight for our return to the NPFL. We are going to Asaba with belief and purpose,” he stated.
Training sessions have focused on tactical organisation, physical conditioning, and match simulations to fine-tune the team for the decisive showdown.
The club’s preparations have been buoyed by strong support from the management, led by Chairman Engr Auwal Gotal, as well as the Bauchi State Government and loyal fans who are eager to see the Tourists return to Nigeria’s top tier.
“We are not just going to participate, we are going to compete and win,” Maikaba added.
Wikki Tourists will begin their Super Eight campaign on Saturday, 5 July 2025, with the tournament running through to 12 July in Asaba.
