Bayelsa Queens FC, popularly known as the Prosperity Girls, have arrived in Abidjan ahead of the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. The team will proceed to Yamoussoukro, where the tournament will be held from 23 August to 5 September 2025.
Led by Coach Whyte Ogbonda, the team will hold a training session today in Abidjan before moving to the competition venue on Friday. Prior to their departure, the Prosperity Girls had been intensifying preparations, focusing on discipline, team spirit and tactical awareness.
Drawn in Group B, Bayelsa Queens will face Police Ladies of Ghana, ASKO of Togo and Sam Nelly of Benin Republic. Their opening match is scheduled for 24 August against the Police Ladies.
Club Chairman, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness, stating that they are in Côte d’Ivoire “for real business” and are determined to make Nigeria proud.
