Wikki Tourists began their campaign at the 4th Gusau Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Ben Akwuegbu FC on Saturday, signalling their intent for a strong showing in the competition.
The Bauchi-based side got off to a flying start, thanks to a first-half brace from Lewis Dadong. The forward opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before doubling his tally just four minutes later, putting Wikki firmly in control of the encounter.
Throughout the match, Wikki Tourists displayed superior quality, dominating possession with crisp passing and applying relentless pressure on their opponents. Their defensive line also held firm against any potential threats from Ben Akwuegbu FC.
Despite a late goal from Daniel Adoga which gave Ben Akwuegbu FC a lifeline, the result was never truly in doubt as Wikki maintained their composure to see out the win.
The Tourists will now aim to build on this early momentum as they continue their quest for silverware in the tournament.
