Kano Pillars head coach Evans Ogenyi has reflected on his team’s 1-1 draw against Wikki Tourists in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League clash in Kano.
Speaking after the match, Ogenyi expressed his disappointment at failing to secure a home victory but maintained that the team would focus on steady progress.
“We prepared a team to start winning today but football being what it is, it ended this way,” he said. “We will take each match as they come.”
The visitors took an early lead in the 12th minute through Luis Dadong, but Mustapha Umar equalised for Pillars on the stroke of half-time. Despite several attempts in the second half, the hosts were unable to find a winner and were forced to settle for a point.
The result leaves Pillars still searching for their first home win of the season as they continue to build momentum in the early weeks of the campaign.
