Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was in Accra on Sunday to show support for Kwara United during their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round clash against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.
The governor joined the club’s management, coaching crew and passionate supporters at the Accra Sports Stadium to rally behind the Harmony Boys as they continued their continental campaign.
Despite a spirited effort, Kwara United were edged 4-3 by Asante Kotoko in a thrilling contest. The second leg of the tie is scheduled for Sunday, 28 September 2025, at the M.K.O. Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s presence was seen as a strong gesture of solidarity, boosting the morale of the players and underlining the government’s commitment to supporting the state’s representatives on the continental stage.
