Kwara United secured their first win of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season with a 2-0 triumph over Kun Khalifat on Matchday 3 at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.
New recruits Aule Shirsha Johnmark and Kingsley Obiora delivered the goals, scoring in the 24th and 82nd minutes to seal a deserved victory for the Harmony Boys.
Coach Tunde Sanni’s side displayed control throughout, with Johnmark and Victor Adeoye driving the attack and midfield, while Kabir Mohammed, Ibrahim Yahaya, Aliu Saulaudeen and Saheed Olaniyi provided defensive stability.
Second-half introductions of Shola Abdulraheem, Gidado Toheeb, Kingsley Obiora and Chara added energy and ensured Kwara United maintained their grip on the contest.
After the game, Sanni praised his players for their discipline and execution, describing the fixture as an important preparation ahead of their CAF engagement in Ghana in two weeks.
Johnmark, who marked his league debut with a goal, was named Man of the Match, an award powered by Cyteck.
The win lifts Kwara United to 10th place on the NPFL table with four points from three matches. They will travel to Warri next weekend to face Warri Wolves on Matchday 4.
