The CAF Diaspora Tour for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 opened in London with a vibrant celebration that brought together football icons, music stars and fans at Piccadilly Circus.
The opening event attracted notable African figures including Alex Song, current Nigeria international Alex Iwobi, Ghanaian music star Stonebwoy, Nigerian artist Odumodublvck and former Arsenal Vice-Chairman David Dein. The Tour forms part of CAF's wider initiative to connect with African communities around the world ahead of AFCON 2025.
The two-city Tour will continue in Paris on 3 and 4 December. The original AFCON Trophy will be displayed at Palais de Tokyo, Yoyo on 3 December during the opening ceremony before returning to Morocco on 4 December for the official TotalEnergies AFCON 2025 Trophy Tour.
The London leg of the Diaspora Tour continues today from 3pm at Piccadilly Circus, where fans will have the chance to meet the legends and view the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Trophy.
David Dein praised the momentum around African football, describing it as an exciting new era. He said the tournament in Morocco would be a major milestone for the continent and a showcase of its passion and talent.
Former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Alex Song highlighted the significance of seeing diverse communities in London celebrating African football. He said this level of global visibility was something players of his generation rarely experienced.
Stonebwoy delivered a standout performance during Thursday night's media and partners event, which also featured Odumodublvck, underlining the strong cultural presence of the African diaspora.
The Tour pays tribute to the deep-rooted connection between African football and its global supporters, honouring the legends who have carried the continent’s identity onto the world stage and celebrating the unity that fuels every match and moment.
