ANFASSC Mobilises Massive Support for Rivers United in CAF Champions League Clash against RS Berkane

As Rivers United prepare to host RS Berkane in a vital Group Stage fixture of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League, the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) has announced full mobilisation of its members in support of the team.

Hundreds of ANFASSC supporters have travelled to Akwa Ibom to back Rivers United in the high-stakes encounter at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday, 28 November 2025.

Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, National President of ANFASSC, praised Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Chris Green, for his exceptional coordination and support of the club. Ogunjimi believes this backing will help reignite Rivers United’s continental ambitions following their defeat to Pyramids FC in the group opener.

“ANFASSC stands firmly behind Rivers United. We believe in the talent, dedication and fighting spirit of the players. With the support of Chris Green and the entire Rivers State sports community, our supporters will ensure the team feels our presence every minute of this match,” Ogunjimi said.

Rivers United, the first Nigerian Professional Football League club in several years to reach the CAF Champions League group stage, secured their place in the competition after a dramatic home victory over Mozambique’s Black Bulls, overturning a first-leg deficit.

Despite a 3-0 loss to Pyramids FC in their opening group game, ANFASSC leaders and supporters remain confident that the atmosphere at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Nigeria’s CAF-approved venue for international matches, will inspire the team to bounce back strongly.

ANFASSC has called on all patriotic Nigerian club football supporters and Rivers United fans worldwide to raise their voices in solidarity and rally behind the team.
