Delta Queen FC have completed the signing of 16-year-old defensive standout Pattra Chidera Oparanmegwa as they prepare for the new Nigeria Women's League season.
The highly rated talent from Imo State has impressed consistently with her performances and arrives with a growing reputation. Her addition is expected to inject fresh energy and competitiveness into the squad.
Chidera's achievements include finishing as top scorer in the Nigeria Women's Football League Championship with 5 goals and 7 assists. She also claimed the Most Valuable Player award from the Soccer Queens Organisation at the NWFL Championship 2025.
She has further distinguished herself with multiple gold medals at the National Sports Festival 2025 and the NDDC Sports Festival.
The young defender is known for her strong free kick ability, accurate long passes, composed ball control and powerful shooting. Her reading of the game and timely interceptions have marked her out as one of the most promising emerging players in Nigerian women's football.
Chidera dreams of representing Nigeria and hopes to play for major European clubs such as Lyon or Barcelona. She draws inspiration from England international Hannah Blundell.
Away from football, she enjoys reading, travelling, meeting new people and listening to music. She also loves okro soup with garri.

Her signing represents a major statement from Delta Queen FC as they continue to strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
