Rivers United head coach Finidi George has delivered a firm message to RS Berkane ahead of their crucial CAF Champions League Group B clash in Uyo on Friday.
The Pride of Rivers are seeking redemption after their 3-0 defeat to Pyramids FC in Cairo, and Finidi insists his side has corrected the errors that cost them in the opening fixture.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Finidi stated that his team has analysed Berkane thoroughly and is ready for a decisive response.
“Our focus is on the game against Berkane tomorrow. We have made enquiries about them and we know what to expect,” he said.
He added that the squad has the backing and momentum required to secure all three points.
“We have all the support we need to maintain high intensity and secure the maximum points. It is going to be a difficult game, but the match we played in Cairo taught us so much and we do not want to make the same mistakes again.”
Finidi assured supporters that the players have responded well since returning from Egypt.
“We have learned our lessons and we are working hard to get a positive result,” he emphasised.
Rivers United will be aiming to reignite their CAF Champions League campaign with a home victory that could put them back in contention in Group B.
