Nasarawa United slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Warri Wolves on match-day fifteen of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season, but Technical Adviser Mangut Mbwas says he remains unfazed by the setback.
The Solid Miners struggled to recover after conceding in the 7th minute, when Othuke Egbo struck the decisive goal for the hosts in Ozoro, Delta State. Despite dominating stretches of the contest and creating several clear chances, Nasarawa United could not find a response.
The loss cost the Lafia side their place at the top of the table, dropping to second on goal difference behind Ikorodu City. Wolves climbed to sixth with the victory.
Speaking after the match, Mbwas shared a calm assessment of his team's performance.
“I am not disappointed with today's result,” he said, acknowledging the early slip that allowed Wolves to take the lead. “We played better, missed a lot of goalscoring chances, but were just unlucky.”
Mbwas stressed that the title race remains far from settled.
“The league is still a marathon. We will recover as quickly as possible from today's defeat. We will keep fighting till the end of the season to achieve our target.”
Nasarawa United now turn their attention to a home fixture against 10th-placed Shooting Stars, scheduled for Sunday, 7 December 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium.
