CAF Secondary School Football Championship: Nigeria U-15 Squad Set to Return Friday

The Nigeria U-15 Secondary School football team is scheduled to arrive at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday following their participation in the 2025 CAF Secondary School Championship qualifiers in Ouagadougou.

The team will depart the Burkinabé capital aboard Côte d’Ivoire Airlines, returning a day after the conclusion of the regional qualifying tournament.

Led by Coach Seun Oyeniyi, the Nigeria U-15 boys fought hard but failed to progress beyond the group stage. They finished on three points, level with the two teams that reached the semifinals, but missed out due to goal difference.

Nigeria began their campaign with a 1–4 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire on Monday but bounced back with a 1–0 victory over Benin Republic. However, the heavy opening loss ultimately cost them a place in the next round.

The squad had prepared for 13 days in Abuja ahead of the competition, but defensive weaknesses against Côte d’Ivoire were widely seen as the main reason for their early exit.
