CAF has announced fresh regulations as the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco approaches.
National teams must now submit their final squad lists at least 10 days before the tournament starts. Failure to meet this deadline will result in a fine of $10,000.
Travel restrictions have also been tightened. Only 18 players from each squad will be allowed to travel between host cities by plane, road, or train.
Teams moving from Rabat to Casablanca will travel on the morning of their matchday. Those heading to other cities are permitted to travel the day before their game.
Several nations, including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Botswana, DR Congo, Benin, Mozambique, Cameroon, Gabon, Comoros, Mali, Zambia, Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea, are expected to move between cities during the group stage.
In addition, no full training sessions will be allowed at match venues the day before games. Teams may only visit and familiarise themselves with the stadium between 2pm and 9pm, subject to CAF approval.
With these new rules, preparations for AFCON are clearly intensifying.
