Côte d’Ivoire will sharpen their title defence plans with a 10-day training camp in Marbella, Spain, ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, the Ivorian Football Federation has confirmed.
FIF president Yacine Idriss Diallo announced that the Elephants will regroup in Spain from 10 to 20 December for the final phase of their preparation. The reigning champions, who lifted the trophy on home soil in February 2024, are expected to play two friendly matches during the camp, with DR Congo being considered as a possible opponent.
Coach Emerse Faé will release his squad list on 9 December before the team assembles the following day. The camp is aimed at refining tactical work and strengthening confidence before the continent’s biggest football event kicks off on 21 December.
Côte d’Ivoire experienced mixed results during the November international window, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia before securing a 2-0 win over Oman. With the Elephants drawn into a challenging Group F labelled by many as the Group of Death, fine-tuning form and mentality has become a priority.
The champions open their campaign against Mozambique on 24 December, then face five-time winners Cameroon on 28 December, before concluding the group stage against Gabon on 31 December. Both sides have recent history, having met during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where Côte d’Ivoire recorded a draw away and a narrow home victory.
Diallo also confirmed that the team’s preparation plan has been approved by the Ministry of Sports, clearing the way for seamless organisation. The Elephants will leave Marbella for Marrakech on 20 December, arriving one day before the tournament begins.
