El-Kanemi Warriors Outgun Enyimba in Five-Goal NPFL Classic

El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri returned to winning ways after claiming a thrilling 3–2 victory over Enyimba International FC in their Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 18 clash.

The Babagana Umara Zulum Boys delivered a spirited performance in a contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

El-Kanemi Warriors began on the front foot and controlled much of the first half. Their early dominance was rewarded in the 29th minute when Daddy Abdulrahman calmly converted from the penalty spot after Enyimba defender Mohammed was penalised for handball inside the area.

The hosts doubled their advantage eight minutes later. Jonas Emmanuel finished clinically after meeting a well-weighted cross from Bilal Yakubu to make it 2–0.

Enyimba responded late in the half and pulled a goal back in the 43rd minute. Muhammed Hussaini tapped home from close range to reduce the deficit to 2–1, ensuring the Aba giants went into the break still in contention.

The second half saw El-Kanemi Warriors resume their attacking approach. Jonas Emmanuel struck again in the 52nd minute, converting another inviting delivery from Bilal Yakubu to restore the two-goal cushion at 3–1.

Enyimba attempted to swing momentum through tactical substitutions, with the introduction of Atule adding urgency and attacking penetration. The change paid off in the 76th minute when A. Nworisa found the net to give the former champions renewed hope.

Both sides continued to adjust tactically as the match wore on, but El-Kanemi Warriors held firm through four minutes of added time. Referee Kazeem eventually brought the contest to an end, sealing a crucial victory for the Maiduguri-based side.
