Enyimba FC marked the Christmas celebration by reaching out to orphanage homes in Aba as part of the club’s annual humanitarian activities.
In the spirit of the Yuletide and the celebration of the birth of Christ, players and management staff of the Nigeria Professional Football League side visited three motherless homes within the city.
The beneficiaries were Father Basil Motherless Home on Jubilee Road, Seventh Day Adventist Motherless Home and Joyrita Motherless International Foundation in Abayi, Aba. The delegation presented food items and other essentials aimed at supporting the welfare of the children.
The outreach was inspired by the humanitarian vision of the club’s Chairman, Ambassador Kanu ‘Papilo’ Nwankwo, whose commitment to giving back has remained a central part of Enyimba’s identity.
Speaking through the club’s Media Head, Orji Sampson, the Chairman and board reaffirmed that the Christmas visit has become a tradition within the club. The initiative, he said, reflects Enyimba’s belief in compassion, community support and social responsibility, particularly during festive periods.
He added that as one of Nigeria’s most recognised football institutions, Enyimba FC remains committed to engaging with society and giving back to the wider community, including its supporters.
Managers of the orphanage homes expressed gratitude for the gesture. Mr Godwin Chima of Joyrita Motherless International Foundation, Mrs Joyce Chibuike, nurse in charge at the Seventh Day Adventist Motherless Home, and the matron of Father Basil Motherless Home praised Enyimba FC for their kindness.
They offered prayers for the club’s continued growth and success, both on and off the pitch, and wished the team well in their future football ambitions.
