USM Alger Secure Vital Away Win with Late Draoui Strike

USM Alger claimed their second victory in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup group stage with a narrow 1–0 triumph over Olympic Club de Safi on their opponents' turf.

The match unfolded as a tight, tactical battle, with both teams prioritising defensive solidity and creating few clear chances during the first half. The sides went into the break locked at 0–0 after a cautious opening 45 minutes.

In the second half, USM Alger increased their intensity and began pressing more assertively. Their efforts paid off in the 84th minute when Riad Benayad crafted a crucial opportunity. Benayad's clever play inside the penalty area set up midfielder Zakaria Draoui, who fired a precise right-footed shot into the bottom-right corner to break the deadlock.

Olympic Club de Safi pushed hard in the final moments to find an equaliser, but USM Alger's defence held firm, securing all three points.

This result gives USM Alger a valuable boost as they solidify their position atop Group A.
